Advertising Resume

There are two distinct types of resumes in the advertising field and they are done very differently. The first one is The Advertising Executive Resume. These must be more carefully written than others. This is simply because these are reviewed by management and will most likely be screened before they even get that far so extra care must be taken with these. They will also have information presented in a different was as they are looking for different types of skills from an executive.

The other is simple all the non-executive resumes but that does not mean they are easy. These are generally done in the technical format which can be a more difficult form to write in as most people have not used ir. You will need to study the advertising resume samples as a lot of the standard rules do not apply here. Instead there are other rules that must be followed. It is a whole new ball game.

Your resume will cover the same topics like skills, education and career goals. If you decide to add a personal statement, use the opportunity to sell your self by listing your achievements and accolades. A great thing to do here is show how you added value to the company. After all, every company likes growth and will hire to build it.

Advertising Executive resumes are generally done in a particular font to save space. That would be Times New Roman. That is because these resumes can be several pages long. For that same reason make an effort to keep filler out. The order of things is slightly different as well. It starts with achievement then onto memberships and volunteer work as well as any teaching. Any recognition in those areas is also documented

Advertising Executive resume tips

• Remember to use the New Times Roman font. It is an unofficial industry standard.
• Include details on all achievements
• Be sure to include an executive summary
• Because of the nature of the resume, it is important to list what you learned where and how you were later able to apply it.
• List only relevant experience: the resume may does not need to be any longer.
• Do include anything that adds value to your resume.
